The Merlot Project is an 800 sq. km property. The property is a joint venture of which Simberi owns 80%. Merlot covers a portion of the Sefton Lineament that contains a number of high potential geophysical anomalies and the presence of copper, nickel and platinum group mineralization. Simberi plans to conduct detailed airborne and ground geophysics as well as geochemical sampling on the property in 2008.

Simberi is currently conducting due diligence investigations for a six month option period on the Merlot property. Preliminary geophysical interpretation has indicated copper, nickel and platinum mineralization.
